About
Just in case you are interested in who is behind this rather ominous looking website, here’s my story. My name is Dane Christensen. I’m just an average, middle-aged husband and father who works a 9-5 job in the Internet industry, lives in a modest home in a small California town, and runs this site as a hobby. As I write this, I’m just starting on this project, but I have hopes of developing a thriving community here.
I am a Christian, but I’m not a religious zealot or bible thumper. In fact, I was pretty turned off to Christianity for many years because of all the wild-eyed fanatics who cried “Lord, Lord!”, but to whom I had a feelling Jesus would say “I never knew you”.  I just never could get on board with the judgmental, fundamentalist approach that so many have taken and that I feel has really twisted the message Jesus was trying to convey.
I am not a theologian, bible scholar, historian, futurist, or anything else that qualifies me as an expert on this subject, and you will never see me come even close to predicting a date for the end of the world. I’m just a reasonably intelligent guy who has some serious thoughts on the subject and who wants to know more. As you’ll probably pick up after reading a few articles, I’m interested in looking at this question from all angles. I want to take an intelligent approach to the issue, and you’ll probably see me trying to inject a sense of reason into some of the wackier discussions. But I will also try to stir up some controversy if the community isn’t doing so, because I understand that conflict creates interest.
The other thing I really want to stress is that I am not a gloom and doom fatalist. Oh, don’t get me wrong, I absolutely believe our civilization is coming to an end sooner rather than later. But I understand that the end of one thing is always the beginning of something else, and I believe that the coming change is going to result in something truly magnificent. Which is not to say it’s going to end well for every one. I do think the wheat will be separated from the chaff. The cocoon will fall to decay as the butterfly flutters away. I just pray that I and my loved ones are among the select. And I pray that for you too.
God Bless You,
Dane Christensen
